In fact, you can probably get all of the nutrients you need in about 1200 calories or so if you&#039;re being super critical about it. That is minimum and most people will be losing muscle weight, but from a nutrient perspective, it isn&#039;t that bad. It&#039;s the empty calories like you say.

Glad you mentioned the processed food bit. It isn&#039;t the high fat stuff that gets you so much as the unnatural high fat / high sugar stuff. I need to take a look at Weston A. Price. Heard the name, never spent much time on it. Thanks for the reference!]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[You touch upon such an overlooked point here Mans . . . that people can be both overweight yet undernourished at the same time. Obesity is so often thought of as a condition of over nutrition, but that&#039;s poor terminology. 

What&#039;s really happening is the consumption of too many empty calories. Empty is the key word here. In modern society, it&#039;s so easy to stuff your face with high calorie, low nutrient foods. Mostly processed shit. Getting fat is simply the byproduct.

I love the work of Dr. Weston A. Price when it comes to the subject of nutrition. While his work is old and some of it outdated, his rigorous comparisons (and photographs) of traditional indigenous cultures (back when they were still around) and their (then) modern counterparts are absolutely amazing. His research illustrates so clearly the link between real food nutrition and health. Good thing he&#039;s not alive to see the shit we&#039;re eating nowadays . . .
